Essentially Sienna has called for artists she represents to create pieces all in the $100-500 range, even while plenty of them make museum-quality pieces worth ten times that. A remarkable 80 artists agreed, and all I can say is set aside some time to browse. The work is just spectacular.
In the earring department, I'm drooling over Boston artist Efharis Alepedis's black leather earrings with red coral beads, the collection of vintage rhinestone earrings from Lola Brooks, Sayumi Yokouchi's french wire drop earrings (shown), and pretty much everything from Kristin Bolhuis. I also adore Alexia Cohen's hand-carved mahogany and silver bangle (shown) and that whimsical mixed media necklaces from Hilary Pfeifer for days I could use a little yellow and turquoise pick-me-up. And while I'm not always crazy about Swarovski crystal jewelry, if you're a big cocktail ring fan (me! me!) artist Barbara Seidenath's Hard Candy cocktail ring will be calling your name.
Every piece is entirely one-of-a-kind, so if you see something you love, grab it now.
Also, my birthday is coming up in a couple of months. Just, you know, FYI. -Liz
Congratulations to Heather C, super lucky winner of a $100 GC to Sienna Gallery!
