When you care enough to send the letterpress

While you might manage your holiday-based communications via e-cards and virtual greetings, you probably, like me, have a secret print fetish. Thick, creamy paper stock, imprinted with subtle, artsy inks -- in a world of texting, a simple "I miss you" note written on an eco-friendly, "lightly textured soft white 100% cotton paper" is downright swoon-worthy.

Let me introduce you to Copper Willow Paper Studios. Owned and operated by two working moms, the company is an eco-friendly letterpress with the most delicious holiday greeting cards and note paper, all pressed by hand on an antique letterpress.  (Although the website doesn't do justice to their beautiful work) All papers are either recycled or tree-free and chlorine free - some are made from recycled tee-shirts! 

I like to keep my holiday cards appropriate for the religious and secular alike, so I'm eyeing their sweet, subtle Joy or Believe card with an actual, tastefully placed crystal dotting the j or i. There's also a collection of photo cards, or the "flourish cards" featuring hand-drawn calligraphy and fancy gold envelopes. 

I love love love to give and get actual tear-open-the-envelope, in-my-hand, print holiday cards and baby announcements and bless those few folks who still send out thank you notes. -Barbara
