I remember waddling over to the glider section of the baby mega-store. I eased myself onto one of the basic floor models. It wasn't much to look at (which is a nice way of saying, butt ugly), but I felt like I had discovered heaven in chair form. I love that even though it's very compact, it also has a recline function with a hidden pop up foot rest, not to mention a stylish lumbar pillow. I don't know about you, but I can't count the number of times my glider became my defacto bed, and I'd wake up feeling like the Hunchback of Notre Dame.
Okay, the million dollar question -- Can the Grano Glider Recliner stand up to the assault of bodily fluids that all babies inflict on the furniture? Well the micro-fiber upholstery material, which comes in loads of colors (even lime green and orange), is water and stain resistant. Go with a darker color if you want the most wear, and from time to time you should commit to steam cleaning. Or get super fancy with bonded leather upholstery.
Each chair is made to order, which accounts for the $1195 price tag. I'll just say if I had bought this ten years ago I'd still be using it today.--Betsy
