I recently had the pleasure of meeting Shivani and Neha Gupta, the two young, talented sisters behind the organic children's clothing line, Sama Baby, and let's just say I'm glad I did. Although my kids might be more glad because they're the ones who can fit in their beautiful, affordable, wearable, organic kids' clothes.
Did I mention affordable?
Neha is a former design developer for Coach and her attention to detail shows in the lovely, soft fabrics, and the beautiful drape of the clothes. The girls' collection includes plenty of baby layette basics in a sweet pink, cream and cocoa palate. But I particularly love that Sama Baby is not afraid of color, as with the lightweight A-line rockstar dress in three wonderful color combos, and a pair of vibrant girls' halter dresses - both just $30 each. Whoo! The boys' collection is filled with easy, parent-pleasing designs and not a truck or a football to be found. And there's a quite nice baby gift category to help spread the organic love, all in prices comparable to the mall chains, but with way (way!) better quality.
Let's just say Neha sent me one of the dresses to try out and now I'm going back to buy more. So if you see my girls in that rockstar dress in a different color every day, now you'll know why. -Liz
