Waste not. Want.
I'm definitely an eco-minded person, but I don't think I'm alone when I admit that sometimes convenience wins out over conscience. For years I've stuffed my son's lunch box with pre-packaged snacks or plastic snack bags, but I think I've found an even better solution.
Munchboxes are the perfect way to send snack portions for your child with zero waste. Each one is made from 100% dishwasher-safe stainless steel (no BPA here), and has a main compartment with a small sealable side container to keep the cheese from touching the grapes, or the meatballs from touching the spaghetti.

While I haven't tried them out myself, the containers are apparently long enough to hold a banana with side room to spare, so you can fit a fair amount of food inside. WhatI think is really  clever, is that the sides clamp shut to prevent spillage. Very smart, having seen how my son tosses around his backpack.

They're $19.95 which isn't quite cheap, but seem to be a good investment if your kid will actually bring it home each day.

Ideally I'd grab a handful of carrots and fruit to throw in rather than cookies and crackers, but baby steps people. Baby steps.--Betsy

Munchboxes are available at uturntotap.com
Or for a similar food storage option, compare with Lunchbots.
