Of A Kind - Indie design with an expiration date
Anyone who knows me well knows Rose, my best friend who has held the title since her family moved onto my block the summer before second grade.  It's because of her that I have a strong respect for the role that all the BFF's out there play in our lives.

This could very well be why I connected with the backstory of Brooklyn-based design team Cary Vaughan and Jenna Wilson, a.k.a. Ace and Jig. These best friends who started as co-workers are now moms, business partners, and fashion designers that I've discovered through a super cool new website.

[don't miss an exclusive deal after the jump!] Cary and Jenna were recently tapped by Of a Kind, a super cool online boutique with a mission to promote up and coming designers like them. Each week the fashion-forward site handpicks one designer to offer an exclusive, limited edition item, from jewelry to accessories to today's spring-friendly Ace and Jig racerback tunic, which is only 20 of a kind.

Purchase one and you even get a certificate of authenticity signed and numbered by the designer themselves. It's like a wearable art collectible.

While the items here are priced like limited edition pieces, they might not be designed for the wallets of the more frugal stylish moms. Still, I am glad for the website introduction. This is one shop I plan to bookmark and revisit often for the inside scoop on up-and-coming designers. And just maybe, I'll find that piece I just can't live without.   -Stephanie M, our newest contributor!

You can find the Ace and Jig tunic this week only at www.ofakind.com -hurry if you want one. There are only 20! Plus, CMP readers get free shipping this week with code MOMSOFAKIND
