Your fortune: A very sweet Valentine's Day

As Valentine's Day creeps closer, I've been looking out for treats that don't list corn syrup or "chocolate-y" filling among the ingredients. One ingredient I do like: Felt. And that's pretty much all these adorable fortune cookies are made of.

The Valentine's Fortune Cookies from Helen of CMP favorite Curly Birds is ridiculously adorable. You can tuck your own fortune inside and send it off in your kid's lunchbox on the 14th, leave one at each place setting at breakfast.

The box of 3 cookies plus fortune slips is only $8, but Helen, being as awesome as she is, also provides a free Valentine's Day craft tutorial for you stitching types on her blog should you want to take this on yourself.

Another thought: make your fortunes a little less G-rated and deliver them to your sweetheart for a little sexy time later. That sweet pink felt exterior can be a deliciously deceiving foil. -Liz

Buy the Valentine's Fortune Cookies from Curly Birds on Etsy, or find the craft tutorial on the Curly Birds blog. Also,  check out her felt hearts which are obviously perfect for Valentine's Day.

Okay, mama, let’s be honest: Halloween is creeping up, and your kids are already bouncing off the walls with excitement (and probably sugar from your hidden candy stash). But before you drown in costume glitter and candy wrappers, let me…
