I have never been to Glens Falls, NY--and to be honest, I hadn't actually heard of it either. But after discovering this amazing little shop that's a celebration of everything that indie small-town America stands for, I'm ready to road trip up there. Or at least hit the website for some cool stuff.
Nine Authentic Goods, named for main thoroughfare Route 9, is a bona fide small town shop in the best possible way, filled with cool vintage-inspired items almost entirely designed, produced, and crafted right in their community.

There are cool items for men, women and kids, but I think the things I love most are the vintage style baseball caps proclaiming your affinity to various mountains in the region, not sports teams. That's a super cool gift for the outdoorsy type in your family, wherever they might live.
You should also check out the vintage Adirondack Mountain postcards, which make cool holiday gifts for the right person, plus a few seriously delicious-looking gourmet food gifts from local purveyors. (They had me at Spicy Maple Almonds.) They've even got some cool clothes for adults and kids, plus pretty jewelry from local artists at nice prices.
