Planes, trains, and automobiles: 3 of the coolest eco-friendly toys this holiday
If you are shopping for a vehicle-obsessed child who can't wait to get more Things That Go, you're in luck. This holiday, some of our favorite small companies are offering such cool, eco-friendly toys that fly, choo-choo, and zip--with a little kid-power of course. -Christina

CMP favorite Green Toys takes used milk jugs to make the recycled plastic for their toys, like these new, colorful airplanes. With their spinning propellers and sturdy construction, this is one toy that could go from indoors to out, and maybe even spend some time in the bath. In fact, if you ever find the planes are looking a little grungy, they can even go into the dishwasher for a cleaning. ($14.99 at Green Toys)

I'm a sucker for clever design, which is one reason I think TubeToys' train is such a cool concept. Kids may not appreciate that the packaging is actually the toy itself, but I love not having to throw away a bunch of unnecessary cardboard. With just a little easy assembly, the Tube Toys Train is ready to zip around the living room. ($16.95 at Spoon Sisters)

Crafted of renewable bamboo and colored with water-based paints, Hape's e-drifter is a nifty and speedy-looking addition to their line of environmentally friendly toy vehicles. Have a child that prefers two wheels over four? Check out the very rad e-superbike too. I would love to put both of these on my son's dresser for decoration, though I have a feeling he'd take them down to play with just about every day. (both vehicles are $22.95 at Fat Brain Toys)
