The coolest red holiday dresses for the coolest girls

Jacquard is really hot right now (according to all the fashion mags we read at the salon) and it's adorable for girls as well. The texture of this jacquard peplum dress from Zara ($42.90) makes it a little fancy but not fussy. This silk taffeta girls' dress from J.Crew is everything holiday dreams are made of. And, OK, at $158, these dreams might be a bit on the pricey side--so maybe put this one on Grandma's shopping list? And make sure she wears it to every recital, party and dinner until it's up to her thighs? Jacadi's polka-dotted corduroy dress is to die for. At $79 it's a bit of a splurge--but it's beautifully made, and in a style that will make it an absolutely gorgeous tunic over leggings or jeans for a few years. After that...hand-me-downs. For those of us with daughters who flat-out refuse to wear a dress unless it's "twirly" (I can't be the only one?), this Tea Collection party dress ($69) is such a pretty solution. If you're all about fancy, this handmade Ses Petite Mains girls' party dress from their Special Occasion Collection is another excellent choice for Grandma's "spoil the kids" shopping list. And no, that isn't exactly red--on the outside, at least. The contrasting petticoats that peek out from underneath the skirt are though, and that totally counts.
