4 fabulous outfits to match 4 fabulous pairs of glasses
There's no faster way to make people say, "Wow, you look great--what's different?" than new glasses. Faster even than a haircut. Seriously. And possibly cheaper, considering there is hardly a pair over $95 on Lookmatic, including your prescription.

So we're thrilled to welcome them as our newest sponsor (yay!), especially because they were so kind as to allow me to put together some cool outfits around some of my favorite Lookmatic frames on their site. And there's a lot. Narrowing them down may have been the hardest part. -Liz

Narita Glasses ($95)
You've got style, but you want to enter a room before your glasses do. Say hello to the Narita frames, which are polished and sophisticated, but in a burgundy metal that adds a hint of color. You can handle bold accessories with a simple frame like Narita. Plus It's the kind of shape that's flattering on so many kinds of faces.

Wear them with:
Rag and Bone Skinny leggings in violet, Rag and Bone Newbury booties, Alice + Olivia loose tee with long back, Ranjana Khan Cuff

Bel Air Glasses ($95)
Translucent, colorful and effortless, the super wearable Bel Air glasses come in lots of colors but I think the yellow-gold makes for a funky neutral. A little color on your face means you can dial up the black accents in your outfit. It makes me want to wear an easy but tailored outfit, grab a colorblocked tote, and and hit Beverly Boulevard for a little shopping therapy.

Wear them with: Modcloth Minimalist is More Dress, 9 West How-To Tote, neutral wedges or even flat sandals.

Patti Goes to Paris Glasses ($130)
With a name inspired by Patti Smith's memoir and a look borrowed from Bridgette Bardot's own frames, these 60s-era nonprescription sunglasses were created in collaboration with LA boutique tenoversix. They're definitely a favorite of mine in three colored frames, but I love the olive! These frames demand a modern take on mid-century cool; think fun (and forgiving) mini-dresses, boxy clutches, and one big, unapologetic cocktail ring.

Wear them with: Issa Striped Dress, Elizabeth and James Strappy Sandals, Alexis Bittar Double Baguette Ring

Andy Glasses ($65)
Arty and poppy (think Andy, as in Warhol), these affordable glasses are super funky as regular prescription glasses--but don't you love them with dark lenses? You know, for all those flash bulbs that follow you everywhere. This is the kind of frame can jazz up literally any outfit, right down to jeans and an arty tee. Just add cool shoes. Even colorful sneakers will work.

Wear them with: Neil Quisaba tee for ThreadlessSeven Slim Destroyed Colorful JeansHayden-Harnett Voyager Crossbody Bag, Megan's Menagerie Chevron Infinity Scarf

Use these looks as an inspirational jumping off point--you can mix and match designer items with favorite cheapies, or just shop your closet for pieces you've forgotten about. You might find a new pair of glasses is all you need to freshen up a look you thought was getting old. Well, that and maybe a new bracelet.

Shop our sponsor Lookmatic for awesome prescription glasses and sunglasses at lookmatic.com  and now through Feb 23, 2012, our readers can save 20% with code coolmom20. There's always free shipping and free returns.

Eyewear that brings life to the party

At some point, most of us have accepted an inconvenient truth: reading glasses are now part of the outfit. They live on the nightstand, in the kitchen, next to the computer, and somehow always disappear precisely when we need them. But d…
