There's something about made-to-order food that doesn't feel right for the Super Bowl, especially with amazing Super Bowl recipes so easy to whip up. I'm not dissing you pizza delivery fans, but if you think that make-ahead Super Bowl recipes are the winning way to go, you can do it more easily by making them in your slow cooker.

These quintessential football snacks, from dips to meatballs, cheesy potatoes to nachos, are low-maintenance and sure to satisfy even the heartiest eater in your family. And I say that as both the cook and the heartiest eater in my house.

Have you ever tried making those requisite party dips ahead of time in your slow cooker? It totally works, and the best part is that you just need to plug your crock pot in to reheat your dip. Check out these 5 crock pot party dips for recipes like Hot Crab Dip, White Bean Dip with Bacon, and this Queso Blanco Dip (pictured) that's definitely going to be part of my Super Bowl Sunday.

Carnitas and Guacamole Pizza Super Bowl recipe | Cool Mom Picks

Who needs another Super Bowl taco when you can have Carnitas and Guacamole Pizza (above) from What's Gaby Cooking. It's true that you don't cook the pizza in a slow cooker, but you do cook the meat in one. You can also prep everything else ahead of time so that all you have to do on game day is assemble and bake. Totally worth the effort for this ingenious use of carnitas.

Speaking of delicious ways to use pulled meat, could these Slow Cooker Chicken Nachos from Bev Cooks look more delectable? These are so easy to make that you can do it with your eyes closed. They are also easily adapted: substitute crushed tomatoes for the salsa and add a whole lot of hot wing sauce to make these Buffalo Chicken style. As in Buffalo Chicken Nachos.

We've had pulled meat on pizza, and more pulled meat on nachos. Now it's time for pulled meat on big, pillowy rolls. Michelle of Brown Eyed Baker piles this Slow Cooker Honey-Balsamic Pulled Pork on hearty rolls and tops it with an Asian slaw to make a football dinner sandwich that can take on any rival. (And soak up any beer. Which you'll need.)

Another favorite gets a healthier twist with Crock Pot Turkey Meatballs from How Sweet It Is. These healthy meatballs have a secret: instead of breadcrumbs, they are packed with protein-rich quinoa. I know it sounds unorthodox for Super Bowl snacking, but it's delicious. And if some of your game-watching guests would balk, then don't tell them, they'll never know.

This Slow Cooker Baked Potato Casserole from Tablespoon is perfect if you want something gooey, carb-rich and unapologetically caloric. (We aren't all into quinoa, I know.) The recipe calls for a can of creamy cheese sauce, but if that's not your speed, do what I'd do and substitute all-natural heavy cream.

Last, but never least: Slow Cooker Sausage and Peppers. Maybe it's my Jersey roots, but any recipe that makes eating sausage and peppers this easy is a recipe that needs to be shouted from the rooftops then served to hungry football fans. Don't thank me, thank Kita of Pass the Sushi. This recipe is all hers.
