Orange is the New Black Locket by KIRAKIRA
I'm a huge fan of the Netflix original series Orange Is the New Black, and I'm also partial to gorgeous jewelry that supports a great cause. So I was pretty excited to discover this lovely limited edition Orange is the New Black locket from KiraKira, co-designed by Suz Somersall and actress Alysia Reiner to benefit the Women's Prison Association. Note: the locket is no longer available.  Reiner plays the assistant warden on OITNB (see, I use the acronym like the cool kids on Twitter), which, as you probably know by now provides a seriously raw look at women in prison and their often unexpected backstories. One of the great things about the show is how much it's heightened awareness of the treatment of women in prison, and organizations like The Women's Prison Association which works with women both in and out of prison, encouraging them to make positive life changes to avoid incarceration. The main goal: helping them rebuild their lives after release. We think it's a great resource for women, their families, and at-risk communities in general. Available in both gold and silver, with seven diamonds on the front and the WPA motto engraved on the back, the locket is $98 -- really reasonable considering what a beautiful piece it is. Best of all, 100% of proceeds will be donated to the WPA. Such a lovely way to support other women while treating yourself and remembering how lucky you are to be home with your family every day. For more Mother's Day gift ideas, we've got you covered!

At some point, most of us have accepted an inconvenient truth: reading glasses are now part of the outfit. They live on the nightstand, in the kitchen, next to the computer, and somehow always disappear precisely when we need them. But d…
