When I first laid my eyes on the cool leggings for babies and kids at LA mom and pop-owned Chaboukie, I dug the fun patterns and soft fabrics. But the fact that they're made by hand here in the USA and help kids in need, well, yeah, it turned into a full-blown crush.
Chaboukie is the brainchild of LA parents Leah Piehl and Greg Bertens who wanted cool, well-made leggings with a little more style. So they created their own brand, featuring funky, light fabrics that are super comfy and soft, sized from baby to a 4T toddler (though they seem to run just a bit on the small side), all handmade.
The patterns are definitely on the offbeat side, which for me is a rad change from the plain solids and simple stripes it seems like kids are relegated to wearing. And their new toddler shorts with a cool distressed chevron pattern and modern shape are fantastic.
I mean, how can you not love a black and white striped legging called "The Bowie?" Or the fact that every pair of leggings on site is paired with a suggested music video to complement it?
