We love when big brands put energy toward doing good, especially when it positively impacts the lives of children. That's why we're so pleased to be teaming up with JCPenney, to help spread the word about their wonderful new Pair Up program and just in time for back-to-school season, we really hope you'll check it out. Essentially JCPenney and the Y are partnering to help get clothing basics, like socks and underwear, out to underserved kids across the country. The *stats from a national survey are pretty sobering: -Nearly half of all US kid are considered low-income. - 40% of low-income parents worry about their child having enough socks and underwear - 55% of children who did not have underwear and socks to wear wanted to skip school or refused to go, because they were embarrassed. - 46% of parents living in poverty say underwear is among the hardest item to find at second-hand stores, garage sales or through friends and family. Oof. To learn more, take a look at this eye-opening video about the Pair Up program. We think you'll see why we really wanted to be involved with this.
