I have to get out of the black handbag rut. Like, now. Considering most of my wardrobe tends to be blacks, greys and neutrals, I have absolutely no excuse not to dip my toe (or uh, shoulder) into the gorgeous, colorful handbags and accessories that are so hot for fall and winter right now.

And yes, they're splurges. Hey, they're designer handbags. But I'm a fan of buying things I really love that will last, and buying fewer of them. So that even if I'm "shopping my own closet" right now to try and squeeze an updated wardrobe out of items I already own, if I invest in one fabulously chic new handbag, it makes me feel like everything is new again.
