I have had the best time scouring Etsy to find some of the coolest, handmade modern Christmas Stockings that all support talented indie makers. Some even have personalization, should your kids fight every Christmas morning about which belongs to whom. (Ahem.)
In my family — and probably yours too? — stockings are as important on Christmas Day as anything under the tree. They may even stick around for decades. I still have my old Frosty the Snowman stocking from when I was 8! So I love that these stockings are all stylish, spirited, built to make memories, and built to last.

I'm not a fan of linen when it comes to my skirts or pants (it's the constant creasing, people!), but it turns out I'm totally down with it for a slightly rustic, un-fussy handmade Christmas stocking. I love these stockings' bold, colorful lettering for the personalization — and because each is lined with cotton, the stocking will keep its shape and not turn into one big wrinkle. 1-2 weeks to ship so order soon!
Modern rustic personalized felt Christmas Stockings ($38, Lollie Couture)
They call these handmade Christmas stockings rustic but I find them quite modern with the graphic tree and personalized hang tag over bold grey, white and red felt. So, let's go with "modern rustic." The prices are nice too, with discounts when you've got more than one to hang. Which you do.
Personalized Batik Christmas Stockings ($10+, Sew Happy Life)
Wow to these batik stockings! They bring back a lot of memories, especially if you went to summer camp in the '80s (ahem). And yet the technique looks surprisingly cool and modern on Christmas stockings, don't you think? It's hard to tell from the picture, but the white cuffs (which you can personalize with a name) are dusted with silver glitter, so they're way more festive than anything from summer camp.
