How to know what Olympic sport is on when, and who's winning? This website has it all!
Let's be honest, the Olympics coverage is a mess. (And you know I'm a total Olympics-watching geek if you have been following our Instagram Stories on Cool Mom Picks!) Live events aren't live -- unless they are. The medal ceremonies seem almost non-existent. And while there is an actual Olympics Channel...don't count on it featuring much more than highlights and soft-focus interviews. We shared tips for how to watch the Olympics streaming on your devices, but it turns out that the best possible place to find schedules, medalists, and info on the players is simply the Olympics.org site. A helpful Competition Schedule chart (above) shows you who's competing when, including the medal ceremonies. You can easily click to sort by sport or by day. (And YES there are still figure skating events left -- quite a few, in fact.) Click the Medalists tab to see...well, who's winning, and on which day. Or just click on Sport and sort by country for a full list of the latest American sports heroes. How to get up-to-date stats on the Olympics, winners, and schedule I also like clicking on the Athletes tab to seek out info on favorite Olympians, whom you can sort by sport, by name, and even by country -- if you, like me, find yourself saying things like,  "that Japanese skater with the Winnie the Pooh dolls...what's his name...he's awesome!" ( That would be Yuzuru Hanyu, by the way.) It's also good should you want to learn a little more about the big new names emerging from these games, like Adam Rippon, who totally needs a new profile pic; 17-year-old snowboard Gold Medalist Red Gerard, who my kids have become totally obsessed with; Alex Shibutani and Maia Shibutani whose Instagram feeds are giving me life; and Chloe Kim, who I hope will be known more for her insane, Gold Medal snowboarding half-pipe performance than for her perfectly understandable craving for breakfast sandwiches.
