How to trick or treat for UNICEF virtually this year

Raising money for UNICEF at Halloween has become a tradition for many of our readers and their kids, and it's a cause we've supported since the very beginning of our site. That's a long time! So we're thrilled to announce that this year, even with all lots of communities skipping traditional trick-or-treating festivities, trick-or-treating for UNICEF is not cancelled. It's just going virtual. But we're pros at that by now, right? Start by signing up for a virtual collection box, then set a goal for your family to raise. You can even get your school classroom to work together to meet a fundraising goal, so encourage your teacher to sign your class up! Get creative with your ideas for raising money, or use some of UNICEF's own ideas, like their clever virtual costume reveal party for your extended family. They even let kids raise virtual coins through fun activities, and, for the first time, kids get to choose which programs their own donations fund -- such cool way to get them excited about charity and social good over the long term.

This is the 70th year that UNICEF has partnered with kids and families to raise money for their international aid programs around the world. Raise $20, and that supplies 100 bars of soap to an impoverished community. $40 will pay for a round of vaccines for a child, and $185 buys school supplies for forty—yes, forty!—children. The Trick or Treat for UNICEF fundraising period has already started and it runs through November 15, so get started today. It's a great way to help keep your own kids safe and healthy...while raising money to help keep other kids around the world healthy, too.
